There is no single definition for what counts as a Data Lab. The Gender + Sexuality Data Lab is understood as a sandbox for new ideas and a vehicle to bring together a collective of people with a shared ambition. In its first year, the Lab is an umbrella for a portfolio of projects and events on themes related to gender and sexuality data.

The Lab will grow slowly, developing projects with existing and new partners in the UK and around the world.

It aims to become a critical collective of people engaged in gender, sex and sexuality data work, bringing together a diversity of disciplines, career/experience levels and skillsets.

The Lab has not yet developed formalised programmes to get involved – for example, an Associate or Affiliates model. Watch this space as plans develop and get in touch if you have any ideas or projects that you would like to develop with the Gender + Sexuality Data Lab.
