Pleasance, Edinburgh, Thursday 5 June
Data are everywhere – creating opportunities, identifying efficiencies and opening up new spaces for creativity and invention. But data also causes trouble. Queer trouble.
When used in art, governance, healthcare and other contexts, data can help us and our communities imagine better versions of the world. But - when data encounters queer lives and experiences that do not fit the algorithmic model - they are suppressed, contorted and excluded.
The Queer Data Showcase invites artists, academics, activists and anyone else who works with – or is interested in – queer data as a material, concept, process and problem to share their work.
Co-organised by AI Ethics & Society and Pride in STEM – and hosted by the fabulous Mystika Glamoor – the event is the perfect opportunity to showcase your work with an audience enthusiastic about all things queer and all things data!
The Call for Presenters is now live! For further information visit the Queer Data Showcase page on the AI Ethics & Society website.
